2005 VOLVO S40 CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON . HAD CODE PULLED AT ADVANCE AUTO SHOWED P0026 - FAILED INTAKE VALVE SOLENOID. CAR HAS 52000 MILES AND HAS HAD REGULAR SERVICE. OIL WAS CHANGED YESTERDAY
WHAT IS THE MOST COMMON CAUSE OF THIS CODE?

for that fault code you have upgrade control unit software first and then retest software can help and change some parameter for the code . if the code comes back you either can have a low oil or low oil pressure going to the intake valve . if you need jsut software cost is around $160 at volvo dealer .

if you gone need the solenoid it will run around $450 -600 but that all needs more testing the code you give is just generic code no volvo code what that says just area of the problem if you had volvo dealer code it can tell me more .
