I have a 2002 Volvo S80. I continue to get the message "Bulb Failure Position Light" in the text information window. The owners manual does not reference this message and it has appeared for over a year. I can't erase it, and every bulb that I am aware of works. Can you provide any information and/or a solution? Thanks.

go in rear look at left and right you need to see 4 postion bulbs on 2 on each side upper and lower are they working all>?
Yes.....when I start the car and touch the brakes all 4 (in addition to my turn signals work.
Now what?
not when you touch the brake with brakes pressed you need to have 6 bulbs working i you have position light on message just replace all 4 position bulbs 2 on each side and that would take care of your problem also you can replace 2 brake bulbs while you in there .to get access to the bulbs open the trunk on each rear corner fold the trim and access the bulbs .

So I need to have 6 bulbs working, not 4 as you said on your first response.
There are 3 places for lights on each side.
The top area shows red - brake lights (which both work)
middle area is white - turn signals (which both work)
bottom area is red - both work
if you all you lights work on the car than you have wrong bulbs they have 2 different bulbs for s80 for the lower lights position bulbs if you say both work than you need to get new bulbs from Volvo dealer bulbs will work only if you have wrong bulbs what draw different resistance you bulb fail light will stay on until you install correct bulbs /

I am not going to accept because it has taken over 11 hours to get an answer to this my question. Ultimately, you may have given me the correct answer, but the time it took to get it is unacceptable. In addition this information should have been in the owners manual......when you pay this much for a car I expect better service.
Not your fault, but, given the circumstances, I'm not paying $9.00 for this information.
i tried to help you but this is not right a way answer i takes sometimes 24-48 hours to get answer it looks like you posted the question at midnight there are not many experts online that late . i only get paid 1/2 amount anyway from your deposit but i understand you concern .thank you i wish i was able to help you more faster im sorry .
