Customer Question

Why does live view on my D90 not raise the mirror if a Tokina 100mm f2.8 Macro lens is mounted on the camera?
JA: What's the exact make and model of the camera? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: It is a Nikon D90, less than 10 years old.
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: I found the problem today. I tried live view with my Nikon Lenses and they work perfectly. The problem seems to be limited to the time the Tokina is mounted
JA: Anything else you want the electronics expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: No.

Do you still need help with this?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
No I don't need help. I found the problem. For future reference if you ever get a call like this or a complaint that Auto Focus doesn't work, the problem was that I had bumped the Aperture Ring on the Lens and it was no longer set at Minimum Aperture.
