Thank I hope you can help. I used this camera upload for our Christmas photos. Now I was trying to upload our New Years photos and the computer said the program is there but won't let me use it.
Customer: replied 4 months ago.
No I don't need to call I would like you to answer the question I paid for.

Which model of Kodak camera do you have?

Expert:  Pete replied 4 months ago.

Also which app or software do you have installed on the computer?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
Its a Kodak easyshare M583
Customer: replied 4 months ago.
Its a Kodak share app
Expert:  Pete replied 4 months ago.

Ok, the M583 should be compatible with the Share app, so what happens when you try to use it?

Do you get an error message?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
it indicates the USB wire doesn't work however I used this plug on other apps and used different plugs they all seem to work on everything except the camera.
Customer: replied 4 months ago.
I also noted that the app is for windows 7 or vista and I upgraded to windows 10 a couple of months ago. But I used this app right after Christmas this year and everything went well.
Expert:  Pete replied 4 months ago.

Yes the app should still be compatible with Windows 10.

The problem may be with the USB cord.

Is your HP Pavilion a laptop or desktop computer?

If it is a laptop is the power supply connected and any other unnecessary USB cords removed?

Do you have another USB cord you can try using?

Also try cleaning out the USB socket on the camera, in case any debris has gotten in there and is preventing a good connection?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
Its a desktop and I used 2 different cords. I used one to charge my phone and also the camera. Both cords worked. But when I plug it into I get the app is automaticatlly ready for use but when I plug it in nothing happens
Customer: replied 4 months ago.
I just got a error message that the USB is not recconized
Expert:  Pete replied 4 months ago.

Ok, there is a USB conflict or some sort of software glitch occurring.

Can you try leaving the camera connected to the computer and powered on, then restart the computer?

This may allow it to pick up the USB connection again.

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
i'll give it a shot
Customer: replied 4 months ago.
still nothing I tried to click on the Kodak app and all it indicates that the app is there to and can be used. I just got a message that I need to update to the latest office version. Does this have anything to do with this?
Expert:  Pete replied 4 months ago.

No, Office updates will not affect this.

Do you always 'safely disconnect' the camera's USB connection from the computer, or do you just unplug it?

If you open up "This PC" on your computer, can you see the camera showing there?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
I usually after the pictures are imported I just unplug the USB wire and turn the camera off. You got me how do I do the open up this PC
Expert:  Pete replied 4 months ago.

Ok, simply unplugging the camera is risky, and can cause this problem to occur - before removing any USB device from the computer, you should always click the 'safely disconnect' icon in the system tray (lower right corner of the screen).

To open up the "This PC" window on your computer, you can press the Windows start button and start typing This PC into the search box there.

Then open up the This PC window to see your connected devices.

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
I don't see anything that indicates connected devices
Customer: replied 4 months ago.
I have to go now supper is ready. if you find anything else send it by email. I'll have more time tomorrow.
Expert:  Pete replied 4 months ago.

Ok, I'd suggest a quick remote connection so I can have a look if that's ok?

At a convenient time in the afternoon, perhaps after 1pm EST?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
OK about 1pm
Customer: replied 4 months ago.
OK I'm back are you there?
Customer: replied 4 months ago.
Pete are you there?????
Expert:  Pete replied 4 months ago.

Yes I am here

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
What do you suggest besides the pop ups. I still don't have an answer yet!
Expert:  Pete replied 4 months ago.

You can ignore the pop-ups.

Did you get the remote assistance offer?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
I did for an additional $18 not going to happen. Look Pete if you can't find an answer for the amount your company wants me to pay then I suggest we end this talk. If the company tries to charge me I will protest the transaction.

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
The assistance offer was $18 if we can do this without this amount let go!
Expert:  Pete replied 4 months ago.

I am only paid a portion of your payment for my time and I am required to send you an offer to start the remote assistance.

We didn't make any progress after over 60 minutes last night, however if I connect to you remotely we should be able to sort it out quickly.

Your satisfaction is guaranteed.

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
That's great but not for an additional $18. It looks like the original $5 already turned into $31. Enough is enough. It sounds like we probably need to end this process.
Expert:  Pete replied 4 months ago.

Are you giving up on this?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
I think the amount I'll be charged is already too much. I don't need any additional amount charged. You indicate a portion of your time is paid by the amount I will pay. I'm looking at being charged for an answer not your time. Sorry that's how I feel. Its not against you personally it's the company bilking every penny they can get from customers. They already sent me a survey wow I'm going to have fun with that one.
Expert:  Pete replied 4 months ago.

Bear in mind that I am a user of this site, just like you.

I get paid nothing until you are satisifed.

So far I have accrued over 120 minutes on this question page.

There are a lot of running costs associated with the website.

I can send you a lower offer to process the remote connection if that is agreeable?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
Sorry, I didn't know that you were a user and not someone hired and being paid also by this company. Let's just end it now.
Expert:  Pete replied 4 months ago.

The website connects independent experts like myself from around the world with people like you.

If we end now, I get $0 for my time spent so far?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
The end.
Expert:  Pete replied 4 months ago.

Ok, You have a nice day.
