I have a Canon Rebel XT 350D camera. In the LCD display it

Customer Question

I have a Canon Rebel XT 350D camera. In the LCD display it used to show the number of shots remaining. Now that portion of the LCD just displays [999]. How can I get back to it showing shots remaining?
JA: What's the exact make and model of the camera? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: It is the Canon Rebel XT EOS 350D. It is approximately 122 years old.
JA: What happened right before this popped up? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: I'm afraid I cannot pin-point an exact time. I have done no specific trouble shooting beyond reading the manual that came with the camera. If you can guide me I am willing to try.
JA: Anything else you want the camera expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: No. Everything else seems to be working correctly.

Hi. I'm Steve and I will be assisting you today. I've been here since 2005.

*** Please note that I cannot take a call right now*** - the site is sending you those prompts, not me. If you need phone support, I can opt out and another expert will help you.

Ok, let's see what we can do here.

You are seeing 999 because you have a card in there that holds way more than 999 images and the display only has three digits. Hence it displays 999 which is the highest it can display.

I hope that helps.
Steve
