To start, please unplug the scanner and turn off the computer. Then turn the computer back on. Once it is on, plug the scanner in and connect to the computer.
See if that makes a difference. If not, let me know and we can go from there.
You may have to re-install the scanning software, and I can give you a link to that if a restart doesn't help.
