Hi there. My name is*****'m sorry that you're having this problem. It is actually quite common. The EOS2 utility seems to be less then stable in Windows 10. There are a few things we can do to try to resolve the problem. Does Windows 10 "see" your camera when it is plugged up? If not, please unplug the camera and any other usb devices that are plugged into the computer, reboot the computer , and then plug in ONLY the camera, and try the software again. Let me know if that resolves the issue or not.
If you would like to try a more permanent fix, let's start by going to the anon Support site and using the "EOS Utility Updater" to update your software. Please note: there is no official support for Windows 10 ( or if there is it is very recent). If you don't see the EOS utility update under windows 10, please look under Windows 8.1.
If you continue to have issues after updating the software, we may need to edit the entry for the eos utility in the Windows startup folder to start "eos utility 2" (leave the rest of the shortcut in place) so it will bring up the utility apparently in a different mode (or another version of it ) that will recognize the camera as soon as you connect it (and switch it on ).
If you'd like, I can offer the PREMIUM SERVICE of a SECURE REMOTE CONNECTION. This will allow me to see exactly what is happening on your computer and to work on the problem while you watch. This is completely optional. If you do not choose to take this service, I will walk you through a solution step by step here.
have not yey found out how to start it in the system tray but will keep looking
