Customer Question

Hi I have a Nikon B500 i bought today and am having some problems
JA: What's the make/model of your device? How old is it?
Customer: Nikon Coolpix B500. I tried pairing it to a new iPhone and it told me i needed a firmware upgrade. Online i followed the instructions and copied firmware 1.1 to a memory card which i put in the camera. Since that time every time i turn on the camera i am presented with this error message: "Turn the camera off and then on again"
JA: How long has this been going on? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Just bought the camera today. This problem started about 1 hour ago when i inserted the memory card after downloading the firmware update No trouble shooting
JA: Anything else you want the electronics expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: No thank you

Hi!

This issue means that the firmware likely corrupted the camera. The reason that this happened was likely due to a bad install of the firmware but I cannot be sure since I was not able to see the firmware update. I would suggest that you take the camera back to the store that you purchased it from so they can replace it for you.
