i have a conon rebel xt and need to transfer my pictures to my laptop -a ;ovono y 70
JA: What's the make/model of your camera? How old is it?
Customer: old ,, rebel xt-- how else do i need to tell
JA: What happened right before this popped up? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: nothing-- the memory chip will not fit and there is no place to conect the cord that i have

Hi!

The cable that you would be using is an USB cable which connects to any computer. The USB port on your computer will be on either the sides or rear of the laptop.

Once you connect your camera to your computer, you will need to change a setting on your camera:

Click on Menu then Tool Settings then Communication and change it to PRINT/PTP.

Your camera will appear in the My Computer/Computer section of your computer as a drive. You can open the drive to view your pictures.
