Second opinion] - Hello, I am typing my question now. Please be patient. My name is*****: What's the make/model of your camera? How old is it?
Customer: We received our G-16 Canon Camera for Christmas in 2014. We love the camera and have enjoyed using it. We lost our charger on vacation last year and went to Best Buy and purchased the recommended "ReFuel" charger and a "Refuel" second battery. to be continued in a minute...
JA: What happened right before this popped up? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: I have charged both batteries in the past without any problems. I took my camera out of the case a month ago and the camera didn't come on when I turned in on. I charged both batteries and tried both of them and the camera will not turn on... what can I do?
JA: Anything else you want the camera expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: I downloaded the Canon website and did what they recommended...charged and tried both batteries and used a swab to wipe off the contact points in the camera battery cavity and also the batteries.
JA: I'm not sure of the exact price, but there's only a $5 deposit. The rest of the price information will be on the page I send you to.
Customer: Are you saying that they will fix the camera while talking to me on line with a deposit of $5 and go from there?
JA: No. I'm the Camera Technician's Assistant.

Once the battery is fully charged, test it using a voltmeter to ensure it is outputting voltage close to that required by the camera.

If the battery is functioning normally then the fault lies elsewhere within the camera - if there is no sign of life from the camera at all (no lights or beeping or motor noises) then there is an electronic fault and the camera will need to be sent to a Canon service center for repair:
