With this camera, and its superb zoom capability, the video function is relatively simple to use.

It's advisable to shoot video in plenty of light, with this camera, lest the picture come out rather the poorer for low-light-availability.

As for what settings... it to some extent depends upon the subject. Birds, for instance, are a different video subject from sports figures moving about the playing field.

I mostly want to take videos of my grandchild indoors. In the past I haven't had problems with light. I recently took videos in the manual mode and found that I got stuck there. Everything I took in manual came back as a video. Louie helped me resolve that. I don't want to have something like that happen again.
