Customer Question

I have a new Canon Pixma 5721 printer/scanner. Printing is fine, but will not scan to local PC USB as per set up. What to do?
JA: Can you guesstimate how old the Pixma is? And has this happened before?
Customer: I installed it two weeks ago and have not attempted scanning prior to today - am trying to create a pdf file.
JA: What happened right before this popped up? What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Have been following the instructions on the printer to auto-scan to PC...screen shows "processing...please wait momentarily....then referts back to doc type screen.
JA: Anything else you want the camera expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: No noice / activity from printer either.

Hi,

I'm sorry about the issue. Do you have windows xp, vista, or 7, or 8, 10, or mac computer?

Can you open the IJ Scan Utility program on your computer and scan with it, and see what happens?
Can we do a remote support session, so I can troubleshoot the issue directly on your computer together with you?
Please reply at the box below. Thank you,

OK. You can click on Start, then scroll down, then click on Canon Utilities if needed (you may have to click on All apps option first), then click on IJ Scan Utility, then click on Document or Picture to scan.

- Or you can click on the search icon / box at bottom left, then type IJ Scan Utility.

Let me know if you have any trouble finding it.

Please reply at the box below to continue. Thank you,

If you do not see the IJ Scan Utility program on computer, then click on the Canon website below:

https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/details/printers/inkjet-multifunction/mg-series-inkjet/pixma-mg5721?tab=drivers

, then there, click on Drivers, then download and install the item MG5700 series MP Drivers

- Once the installation is finished, then you should have the IJ Scan Utility program on your computer.
