Hi, I'm Nathan.Sorry to hear that you're having trouble with this but I'll do my best to help you.
Often this is just a need for the tv to have a software update which it can't always do over wifi. Can you please connect a wired ethernet connection from the tv directly to the modem/router,
then go into the tv settings menu under General, then About, and check for software updates and let me know if that helps?
No problem at all, take your time.
So no new updates found?if you try to connect to apps now, will they work?
Yes that is a possibility as well. Open any app you'd normally use (netflix, catchup, etc).
I'd need to know the current software version you see in the tv settings menu (about), please.
That is an old version, you can get an update file here: http://www.lg.com/us/support-product/lg-40LF6300#manuals
do double check your model number first though as I was going off your question from last year and want to be sure it is a match.
scroll down to software update on that linked page and you'll see the update file and instructions.
You will download to computer, copy to usb memory stick, then install to the tv.
Let me know how that works out for you. Thanks,
Sorry I missed you last night Shirley, I'm in the US on a much different time zone.
Were you able to install the manual update?
Oh if you are doing this on a mac it probably won't work, try it from a pc.
You need to actually unzip the downloaded file and then transfer the contents (not the zip itself) to the tv.
Let me know if you get stuck or put him online with me if you prefer, and I'll guide you through.
You may be able to use a mac, but you do need a zip extraction program to access the file.
Hello Shirley, nice to hear from you again.
It does indeed need to be extracted, but you are still copying just the contents of the update file (not the zip itself), though I've honestly never seen this work well on a mac, only a pc. Keep me posted, when you have a chance, please.
Can you give me a link to the page you are downloading from so I can have a look? Also can you confirm the complete model number of the tv for me (You had only sent the series part before, missing the first 2 digits)
So it is the .epk file that you are putting on the memory stick?
