I have a PowerShot SX110 SI which I love. all of the sudden I can't put the SD card in the slot, it doesnt' click in its place like usual and spring right back up. as a result, the camera doesnt not recognize the card. Please is tere a fix for this.

Can you use a match please and use this to push it in as far as you can.

Can you then get it to click in using this?

A match in the sd slot, with out the card? Don't really understand.

put the sd card in and then push it down with a match as it will get it down further then you can with your hand

I tried with a wooden match stick first and i could feel the 'spring' mechanism push down, but it pops back up. So i tried it with a paper flat match like you said and it just jams.

ok, can you put a vacuum cleaner over it to remove anything damaged inside then try again please

It is the locking mechanism that has faulted, it will have broken off inside or cracked

I am really sorry about this and you are going to have to return the camera to have the body replaced (as it is a part of the body. It will be covered by the warranty if this has not expired, and the replacement will be done at no cost to you.
