My xpro2 arrived from Amazon with the usual Fuji tamper

Customer Question

Hi
My xpro2 arrived from Amazon with the usual Fuji tamper sticker on the camera bag but unlike any other time I have unpacked a Fuji or watched an unboxing the sticker was applied vertically instead of horizontally
This is unusual right? Does it mean that it's a re-sealed bag or something?

Hi, thank you for contacting JustAnswer.com. My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question.

(I regret that I am not able to offer Live Phone Call service at this time; However, your request is still open to other Experts in this category, and one of them may pick up on it at any time.)

You yourself know the sticker position to be unusual.

But if it were a resealed bag, you would notice stressing on the bag, wrinkling or fine creasing, where or near where the sticker was removed before.

Perhaps there are merely (if you see no such signs of prior removal) two different schools of sticker placement: the Horizontalians, and the Verticalians, as it were.

But after assessing that aspect of this problem, go on to test everything about the xpro2. Run it through some very thorough tests of all its functions. Leave nothing out. Also examine it carefully for any sign of prior use, dropping or banging (chipping, or dented corners, or unexplained odd-colored marks anywhere on its case, are all good signs of this), etc.

If it works fine you have a good product.

Does this answer your question?

If so, let me know so that I may close this case.

If not, let me know what else you need to be advised about, please. Thanks.

your view having seen it?

I think it looks normal enough.

Well this is fine as speculation on your part and I am inclined to share your view, however it isn't definitive.Definitive would be confirmation from the factory that this is and does happen or even some evidence that another purchaser has had similar would at least give confidence that this is more likely a factory error than someone re-applying the sticker.I have severe OCD (diagnosed) in this area hence the necessity on my part even though I fully understand the rational and logical approach you describe
Expert:  Russell H. replied 2 months ago.

I don't have contact with the factory, I'm sorry to say.

This sort of thing is what two consumer protections are for:

1. the return-exchange period with your vendor. Undoing the sticker/label/seal does not invalidate that. A passage of time invalidated that, or it expires with a passage of time. I don't know what vendor or store you bought it from, but their return-exchange period is probably about 7 to 10 to at most 14 days from purchase date.

You have the return-exchange period, to assess whether the product is defective enough to warrant returning it for an exchange for another (or sometimes, for a full refund of purchase price.)

2. the warranty period. Usually 1 year. If you find something wrong with the product, you send it to the manufacturer (or give it to a local manufacturer-authorized repair facility) and they fix the problem for free under the warranty terms.

Again, undoing the sticker will not invalidate either of these.

And, that's what they are for: customer assurance of a good product worth buying.

The sticker position is nothing, compared to these guarantees.
