I have a Fujifilm X-30 purchased in Feb 2015, and niot used

Customer Question

Hi Pearl, I have a Fujifilm X-30 purchased in Feb 2015, and niot used that much till recently. When I was using it on a trip the pop-up flash decided not to lock back down. As I am out of warranty, is there an easy fix, or is this a known problem that Fuji might fix free of charge? Larry
JA: How long has this been going on? The Camera Technician's require payment for their services. It's way less expensive on JustAnswer than face-to-face would cost. What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: about a month. I'm happy to use Just Answer if that's what you recommend
JA: The camera expert can solve this for you. Anything else you want him to know before I connect you two?
Customer: thanks, ***** ***** it cost please?
JA: You just pay a $5 deposit now and the rest only when you get a reply from the Camera Technician. All of this is 100% satisfaction guaranteed, so you can get a refund if you're not happy for any reason.
Customer: And what is the rest of the payment?
JA: You just pay a $5 deposit now and the rest only when you get a reply from the Camera Technician. All of this is 100% satisfaction guaranteed, so you can get a refund if you're not happy for any reason.
Customer: This doesn't answer my question I'm afraid

Hi Larry,
My name is***** will try my best to help you with your question.

First, check if the release button is stuck in the 'open' position, or if any part of the catch has been broken off.

It may just be that it is stuck and needs releasing.

If any part of it is broken then the camera will need to be sent for repair.

I am disappointed with this reply. Obviously I have carefully checked the mechanism before enquiring. JA's system, or the "assistant" (whose answers were robotic), should have suggested more information to begin with, and the work should not have accepted without it. I am no wiser than when I enquired.

Ok, if you have already tried that then unfortunately there isn't anything else you can do - the mechanism is broken, so the camera will need to be returned to Fuji.

Is there anything else I can help you with?
