Recently began to try Refurbished Amazon purchased Virb Elite now beyond returnable. I have been using a Class 10 card. The video skips but catches up with audio. I think it may not be filtering as it should any shaking. I was so looking forward to using it and it was a reward for completing a project which is why I didn't check it out right away. All of the refurbished things I've gotten before from Amazon including my Garmin bike computer, have been wonderful. My friends' Garmin's all work great. I'm pretty bummed. Am I stuck with a lemon or can it be checked out and maybe fixed?

I use Garmin Express which automatically keeps devices updated (I think) but I went through with the download/install anyway. I have used the VIRB App and even got my cell to sync, and the Garmin bike computer is chiming in ok (tho i need to do some calibrations). So, to do a test for you I put the camera on my car dash this morning to let it rip while I drove. and It's still stuttering and skipping, the same thing as before. Nice pictures but really... I'll comment too that the 'owner's manual' for this thing isn't very good and surprisingly there doesn't seem to be anything else online. I have lots of questions about the behavior of this thing, like even in trying to view 'Playback', doesn't now. And, when I go to 'System' it will only show Wifi 'yes' etc., nothing else when I try to scroll thru -which I don't think is right. When I try to find 'Playback' it's not there as a choice but once very quickly when first turning it on after recording. After that it's Viewfinder, Dashboard and useless System. There was a time on my very first efforts to try it out that I could get to clips and photos on the Virb and delete them then and there but either I'm losing it or this thing is denying me that option now. It does import clips/photos to my computer ok. It does some things as expected. Maybe this thing is just plain buggered. I'm still bewildered because I had such expectations never expecting this kind of result. Certainly someone checks these 'refurbished' ones before putting them out there again. I'll contact Amazon at some point but..., now what? Is there no warranty or place to send it to have it checked?

well I watched all the YouTube stfg and GoPro comparisons before making my decision to buy the Garmin, but thanks. And clearly I was headed to Warranty work if you weren't able to help. I suppose under different circumstances I'd feel the $25 was well spent but not this time.
