I have a Nikon D5200 that the LCD screen stopped working. I am hoping I have hit a button and changed settings and it is not a screen failure. Can you give me some steps to check?

Already tried that, still no screen view. The camera works taking pictures, just not showing anything on the screen.

No, just stopped working a couple months ago but I couldn't try for repair due to travel. Now need fixed before next trip. I have tried everything I can, just hoping it is a button or switch that got pushed in error. I am long time photographer and I am very careful with my equipment. This camera is not that old to have screen quit. Thought I would try you before shipping back to Nikon.

Also, what condition are the batteries in? How old are they and can you tell if they are charging fully by how long the camera stays running?

A couple of things to try. Go into the setup menu and check the monitor brightness level and auto info display setting. Try adjusting both to see if the screen will respond then let me know.

Battery is rechargeable, charges fast and lasts long time. Just got back from week trip, charge still good and I used the camera a lot during the week I was gone.
How can I see set up menu the screen is not working...

My apologies. I thought just the Liveview was not working? If you have no menu visible, then there is most likely a problem internally. You may want to send it to someone other than Nikon however if you need it back quickly?
