Customer Question

Hi!

Customer: I have a Pentex camera that the batteries exploded inside the camera. I have tried to clean it out as best I can but now the new set of batteries doesn't work.
JA: What's the exact make and model of the camera? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: SLD Digiital K100D
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Besides cleaning, new batteries thats it. At frist it looks like I have enough jusice to start the camera -turning it on. but after that it dies.
JA: The camera expert can solve this for you. Anything else you want him to know before I connect you two?
Customer: thats it, thanks

Okay. From your description, it sounds like the camera will turn on for a few seconds then turns off right away, is that correct?

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
that is correct

Do you have the power supply that came with the camera? If so try that and see what happens.

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
I have the DC connectin wire but no AC adapter. So no I don't have power supply.

Can you plug that into your computer by chance?

Expert:  Dan replied 3 months ago.

If you can get the camera to power up by way of an AC supply or by plugging it into your computer, then you probably just need to do a little more cleaning around the battery terminals. If not, then there may be more damage then you can resolve on your own and the camera will need to be serviced. Considering the price and age of the camera, you would be better off buying a new camera rather than spending money to repair this one.

How are you doing? Are you able to plug the camera into your computer?
