I have the Nikon coolpix B500. I want to select multiple

Customer Question

I have the Nikon coolpix B500. I want to select multiple photos for deletion. How do I get to the screen so that I can make my selections… the screen that says "erase selected images" at the top and it shows the thumbnails. At the bottom lower right, it shows "on/off". This is the screen on page 26 of the user manual. I know what to do once I get there, but my question is…. how do I get to this screen??????

Hi Nancy,

If you move the zoom (W/T) button on top of your B500 camera, it will show multiple images on the screen for you.

Let me know if that works ok for you?

Pete.

Hi Pete,Unfortunately, your answer didn't quite fit the question I asked. If you go to the link below and look on page 26... http://download.nikonimglib.com/archive2/iQldx00JDwoG02Iu30s44eda5m70/B500RM_(En)03.pdf
My question is, how do I navigate to the screen shown on P26 so then I can follow the instructions on the page? Doing what you suggested gives me the various thumbnails to see, but the frame on the left with the Mode, network, etc icons is missing as is the "on/off" in the lower right corner . The result is that I can not select multiple pics for deletion. Thanks.

I have nothing more to add at this time. Not sure if my message above was sent so I am clicking send again.

Thanks for clarifying, Nancy!

If you toggle the W/T button again, does the frame appear?

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
If I toggle the W/T button again, I get more images on the screen for each toggle I do, until it finally takes me to the calendar with an image showing the day of the month, which is as far as it lets you go. For example, at first toggle I get 4 images, next time I get 9 images, etc. I can select only 1 image for deletion. There is no way to select multiples at that point.

So at no stage the left frame appears?

What mode is the camera in?

Customer: replied 3 months ago.
Correct… the left frame never appears. The camera is in AUTO mode.

Ok, then the manual guide does not reflect the version of firmware currently installed on your camera.

I have continued to fiddle with the camera trying to figure this out and I was finally successful in selecting and deleting multiple pics. To get to the screen shown on P26, I selected one pic from the 9 thumbnails showing after toggling W/T. I clicked the trash button and then I chose "erase selected images". Next I clicked OK and then the magical left frame appeared as shown on P26. From there, I was able to select multiple images by following the instructions on P26.

Pete, since your responses did not result in a successful outcome, what are your thoughts on a refund????
