Sorry I didn't see your question earlier and to hear of any issue you are having with your TG-830.
To help you with this issue, may I ask:
1) The AGE of the unit?
2) When the camera was last used SUCCESSFULLY?
3) WHEN this issue first began?
OK - I see that you mentioned "Everything" for the "Already Tried" question.
So may I ask if you have tried swapping the battery - with your son-in-law's camera, to see if that makes a difference?
I only ask because the unit going into sleep mode (or shutting off) is usually associated with the level of charge in the battery.
Can I also assume that the battery has been FULLY CHARGED before each time you have attempted to to use the camera?
I see your request for a Premium Service (phone call), but I'm not close to a phone right now to be able to call. But another expert may take your call request at any time.
If you would like to continue in this format, please let me know about the battery swap (if it occurred) or any OTHER details about the other steps you tried to look into this issue.
