Nikon Coolscan V ED??? Insert either FH -3 strip film holder

Nikon Coolscan V ED??? Insert either FH -3 strip film holder or SA-21 and the info box for VueScan pops up Scanner Not Ready Insert Film into Scanner. Turn scanner off then back on hear gears turn green light blinks then steady green--but still VueScan box ask me to insert film. SA-21 does not engage or feed film at all. FH-3 with negative in place is not recognized. All worked before, but moved and has been 6 months since last used.

If The VueScan software is giving you this error, try using NikonScan instead and let me know if it work for you:

Sorry my operating 10.5 Yosemite system does not support the Nikon software. Pretty sure it is not a software problem. VueScan works better than the Nikon software anyways.

If it doesn't work with any other software then it is indeed a hardware fault and it can be returned to Nikon for servicing:
