My canon 7d II just stopped working. The battery is charged

Customer Question

My canon 7d Mark II just stopped working. The battery is charged and was working earlier but now the red light doesn't flicker when I open the battery door. There no power on at all.

I've had this camera since last fall and has been working fine up until yesterday. I was walking around getting photos and video with it. I had a rode video mic connected to it. The mic was on but the camera was off. It was that way for about an hour until I checked on it and the whole time it was hanging over my shoulder with the strap. The camera was unresponsive. I thought maybe it may have been the battery that may have exhausted, even though they were charged already, I swapped it out with another battery but still no power on or even the red light that blinks when I open the battery door. I've read online that it may have been the microsensor on the battery door that is not getting switched when I close the battery door but I don't know if the 7D Mark II has that or what.

You can try holding the battery door tightly closed to see if there is any response.

If there is not, even when using a fully charged battery, then it is likely that there is a fault with the power button and the camera will require a repair.
