Hi Ron! My name is*****'d be happy to help with this. As a Canon owner myself (several different models), I have experienced this issue myself. The delay is usually due to the camera trying to focus. If you have it in full Auto-focus mode, it is going to take longer than in manual mode. However, i do understand that most people find it faster and easier to use AF. Here's a tip that will lessen the delay. Try "prefocusing" the camera by half-pressing and holding down the shutter button before the final exposure/. It's the best way to minimize shutter lag with the EOS M series.
