The battery door for the Olympus SP 550UZ is easily replaced. You will need a tiny Phillip's head scewdriver. Remove the three small screws that attach the faceplate to the camera (one on the bottom, two on the side). The faceplate pops right off and exposes the hinge that holds the battery door in place. Remove the final screw that holds the hinge in place. Reuse the original spring, pop the new door in place and then replace the faceplate and screws. Please let me know how this works for you.
