Customer Question

I am tring to set AF in my Nikon D750. Followed the instructions - in M mode, holding down AF button, while using main dial on the back with my thumb, to try to select AF from the LCD display on top. Well the LCD display does nothing, there are no options that appear for me to choose from, and also the main display does not display anything either.

Hello. My name is*****'d be happy to help you with this On the front left of the camera, you will find a lever that goes from AF to M, with a button in the middle (big red circle in the image below). Make sure to keep that lever on “AF”, or your lens will not autofocus. If for some reason your lens stops focusing, this is what need to check first. Pressing the button in the middle of the lever allows to choose between different focus modes. Please check this and let me know the results please.

I already reqd this exact response in an online article. I also clearly explained in my question that this is what i already did. I also read my manual, which gives the same instruction. This was not helpful at all.

You stated that you had "in M mode, holding down AF button, while using main dial on the back with my thumb, to try to select AF from the LCD display on top. Well the LCD display does nothing, there are no options that appear for me to choose from, and also the main display does not display anything either." you did not state that you had also tried checking the autofocus lever on the FRONT of the camera which is very different from trying to use the menu to set autofocus. I always start from the top in case the client has missed a step. This will be a question and answer type chat and it will likely take much back and forth to resolve the problem. If that is not satisfactory you, please contact customer service at***@******.*** to request a refund. Please let me know whether or not you wish to continue.

holding down AF button ... said nothing about using the menu. Nevermind. I'll call Nikon tomorrow. There may be a bigger issue here, as i read further and find others having an issue and it may be malfunctioning. Thanks.
