I have a Nikon D50. I haven't taken a lot of pictures in a while. Probably a couple of years. I got my camera out cleaned the lenes. But can't see or take a picture thru the view finder the screen comes on to settings I think. Can't get it out of this screen Have I got it stuck somewhere or is it broken.

What settings show up on the screen, please?Does the screen, e.g. the cursor, react to the arrow keys?Do you need to select Live View mode, perhaps? if the controls aren't frozen, try that.

Ok I'm sorry I have a D40. I press the button like I would to take a picture and the screen comes on. The Screen in gray to the right NORM

Have you done a Review to see if you took a picture? Try going to Reset All in Settings, and see if that restores normal function (if you can get there).
