I have a D3300 and the exposure indicator and exposure

Customer Question

Hi, I have a D3300 and the exposure indicator and exposure compensation display remain on -1 and the camera won't focus at all. The green dot inside the camera keeps flashing, whether it's on Aperture or Shutter Priority. Also flashes on Auto. I have tried everything in the manual. Please help! I need this camera to work in the morning.
Thanks,
Rhoda

Hi Rhoda,If the green dot on the left side of the viewfinder is flashing, it is the focus indicator. It is possible you are using an aperture that is too small for the camera to provide focus confirmation or that the camera is unable to achieve focus for some other reason.Try cleaning the lens, and also clean the lens contacts where they connect to the camera body.If that doesn't work, try fitting a different lens and let me know if that helps...
