I have a Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS. It will not download pictures

Customer Question

I have a Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS. It will not download pictures to my computer (and other PCs too.) Tried a new USB cord, a new Memory Card Reader and a new memory card. None of these are working... is something wrong with the camera or did I select something that changed a setting? I was able to download pictures this past weekend, but not now...

Hi, thank you for contacting JustAnswer.com. My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question. What software are you trying to get the camera to use to download pictures? Try this, after connecting your camera to your computer (in order to correct the AutoPlay settings):(1) Go toComputerand under the heading 'Devices with Removable Storage', you might see an icon for your camera (it might show up as "Removable Disk [suchandsuch]" or the like.) (2) If it shows up there, right click the device and select Properties and then (3) select the AutoPlay tab, and from the choice control select Pictures and then 'Select action to perform', and then (4) scroll down the list until you come to 'View/Download Images using ImageBrowser EX' (or whatever program you want to use to do the downloading of images), select it and click on Apply to save the setting. If the camera does not show inComputer, connect it and see if it shows up. If that doesn't show up as an icon either, then go toControl Panel - Scanners and Cameras, and see if right-clicking upon the camera's icon there, allows you to go through the above process from (2) onward.
