I have a OM mount Vivitar 135 mm 2.8. I have it adapted to a Sony Nex 7. The iris is not responding. The lens has not been used very much and is like new.

Hi there,

if the lens has not been used very much, then the mechanism may actually be stiff and need some lubricating to free it up.

A local camera repair shop can examine it and apply any necessary lubrication to get it moving again.

That is advice not an answer. I was well aware of that possibility, however, The cost would likely exceed the value of the lens. I wanted to know what I could do to repair the item.
