Nikon D7000 - Get a card error message with some of my cards

Customer Question

Nikon D7000 - Get a card error message with some of my cards

Hello and thank you for your question. I look forward to assisting you today. Does it display a specific error message?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
On the line at the top is the word Card. In the ISO-AUTO PARENTHES\ES IS Err. They both flash when I turn on the camera for a few seconds then Card disappears and Err stays
Expert:  Dan replied 1 year ago.

Do all of your cards give you the same error?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I have also put one of the cards that shows the error signal into my wife's camera and it works in her camera. That and the fact that 3 of my 4 cards won't work suggests to me that it is likely the camera. At one point when this first happened I did get one of the cards to work but I don't know what I did to make that happen.

I have one sandisk card that works

Does your wife have the same type of camera?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
She has a Canon point and shoot
Expert:  Dan replied 1 year ago.

Okay. If you do not have anything worth saving on one of the cards, try inserting it into your PC and formatting it. After the format is complete, try it again in the camera.

Now all the cards are giving an error message. When I press the memory button - The scree says - This memory card cannot be used. Card may be damaged. Insert another card.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
That's when I press the playback button.

This is after the format?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Dan I need to move on. Can we reinstate this conversation tomorrow and if we don't get much farther with emails we can convert to a phone conversation. I also plan on getting a friend here at the same time who is more technically proficient to make certain I understand the questions you are asking.
Expert:  Dan replied 1 year ago.

Power the camera off, insert the SD card, then press both format buttons. If that doesn't work, power the camera up with the card inserted and try with both format buttons. Get back to me when you can.
