Hi, thank you for contacting JustAnswer.com. My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question.

Try putting the camera into Review Mode, then connecting it to the computer.

Try, also, using a different USB port on the computer, as far from the first one as possible (since sometimes USB ports differ greatly in their performance, though they shouldn't.)

How old is the camera?

Was it ever working on this Windows 10 PC?

How about its working on any other computer, did it ever?

Camera downloaded fine when I had windows 8.1, on older computer ( no longer have )

Hello - I'm still here.

How old is the camera?

When it is connected, do you hear (or see) any reaction to it at least as a USB device? the clunk-clunk sound of a USB device plugged in, or a signal in the System Tray area at lower right, showing USB device recognition?

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
Camera is about 6yrs. old. I do get a "connection" sound, but nothing happens.

OK so far then.

Go to

Computer

and see if the camera is listed there. Right-click on its listing or icon, if so, and choose

Explore

and see if a Explorer window showing folders and files comes up.
