I can not get my Kodak EasyShare Z650 camera to format a new

Customer Question

I can not get my Kodak EasyShare Z650 camera to format a new SD card. As soon as I turn my camera on with the new SD card in it it goes to disc needs to be formatted. When I try to format it it does dose not complete the format. The only way I can get the menu to come on is if there is not a new SD card installed. So when I press menu with the card installed it only continues to ask me to format the card. Can you help me here?

Hi,

I'm sorry about the issue. What's the size of the SD card, such as 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, etc.?

If you have any old memory card, is it still working fine with the camera?

Please reply at the box below. Thank you.

First, make sure the lock switch on the memory card is not in the locked position.

If that does not work, I believe you are trying to use an SDHC memory card type (not an SD memory card type) on your camera. Like other older camera models, your Kodak camera model EasyShare Z650 does not support SDHC memory card (which has storage size of 4GB or higher); your camera only supports SD memory card (which has storage size of 2GB or less.) You can click on the Kodak website below for the full specifications of your camera:

http://resources.kodak.com/support/shtml/en/manuals/urg00506/urg00506c7s1.shtml

, there, scroll down to the section Image storage.

- This is an easy fix. Can you please return that new memory card, then get an SD memory card, then it will work. I recommend getting a 2GB SD memory card from your local computer / electronics / office store, such as Best Buy or Staples, etc. Or you can purchase it online at the Amazon.com website below: Transcend 2 GB SD Flash Memory Card:
