Customer Question

I have a nikon d7100 with a nikor 70-300 lens. I take pics at 300mm and they look fine till I try to enlarge them, then they are all blurry.
JA: Thanks. Can you give me any more details about your issue?
Customer: I take them on a tripod with my camera set at ISO 100, 1/500 shutter speed and aperiture priority auto focus.
JA: OK got it. Last thing — Camera and Video Technicians generally expect a deposit of about $18 to help with your type of question (you only pay if satisfied). Hi. My name is*****'m a camera repair technician with over 20years in the business and I'll be glad to help you with your question today.

This is usually caused by a back- focus issue. This is when the camera focuses either slightly forward or behind the subject. If you can, try other lenses with the camera and compare the results. If they're the same, the problem is in the camera and will need to be calibrated. If it's just with that one lens, you may be able to use the built in AF fine tuning feature of the D7100.
