hi neil....i am evan...i have been given a used cannon eos xti camera with multiple cf cards....some used an a couple of new...regardless of which cf card i try i get an error message saying some thing is wrong with the card. i have tried to format only the new card thus far and still get the same message....any suggestions or guidance you can give would be most appreciated ty

Take a look inside the card slot with a bright light (cell phone flash??). Do you see any bent or broken pins?

it appears that the 3rd pin over on top row with lens facing towards floor may be bent to the left a bit?

Ok. That may be the problem (it usually is).

Bending them back would be the solution. I use a toothpick.

And be very careful inserting cards after you straighten the pins back.

i have bent the pins back....it appears to have done the trick....i will avoid removing the 4gb card i have in there now and just use a patch cord to down loan the photos to a laptop.... thank you for your assistance.
