How does one import photos from the K5pentax when using the Yongnuo speedlite YN560III? It does not work properly with the device

with the speedlite attached, then each photo is surrounded by blue and has a check...there is also above the pictures a 'clear' which I guess is a command. I attempted to import and of course lost the pictures.

I invite you to first, not attach the Yongnuo Speedlite to the camera.

Secondly, when you attach the Speedlite, if the photos have a check on them and each photo is surrounded by blue, that just means they are 'selected' - for downloading, copying, deleting, or whatever operation you perform... probably, if the camera is connected to a computer, they are selected for downloading to the computer.

If the Speedlite just plain blocks the downloading of pictures, remove it before trying to do the downloading. It may overtax the camera's power resources, or put it in the wrong mode, perhaps.
