I bought a Canon MP76160 printer some 12 months ago and it has served me well just like the old 5 year old Canon I had.
Printing is fantastic as is the scanning - am very pleased with all results.
I have a small problem though with scanning that developed recently.
There are two ways to scan - one from the computer via the Canon quick menu and the second from the printer itself. Unfortunately I am now unable to scan from the printer for some reason. I press the color button and it tries to connect with the computer but after a minute or so the printer reverts to the scan window.
How can I fix this.
Remember if I use the quick menu in the computer - no problem.
I would appreciate any advice/direction that may help me

Hi,

I'm sorry about the issue. It looks like the connection settings from the printer to the computer is corrupted (the settings from computer to printer is fine, but not the other way around.) If you have a Windows computer, please try the following fix:

  1. Disconnect the printer's USB cable from the computer for now.
  2. Go to Control Panel -> Programs / Programs and Features (or Add/Remove programs), and uninstall all the Canon programs there.
  3. Restart the computer.
  4. Go to Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound/Devices and Printers (or Printers), and if you still see any Canon printer there, then right-click on it and remove / delete it for now.
  5. Download and install the MG7100 series Full Driver & Software Package at the website below:
