Customer Question

I have a Sony SDHC (model SF-16nx) memory chip in my powershot sx40-hs. I can not get the camera to communicate with my computer - message says 'communications failure. My Sd 780is camera does not have this problem with its memeory card. When I switch the latter camera to the 16 GB card in the hs camera I get the same message---note: All the pictures are there, I can not get communications with my computer.
Any suggestions?

You have not answered my question----the search you sent me to lists memory cards, but does not answer the question i POSTED. let's try again. Check my original question and let's follow up with the following - can a camera memory chip suddenly lose the ability to transmit its data from a camera .and still reocrd pictures?
thanks
John

What is your computer's operating system. XP, VISTA, Windows 7, 8, 10? Some configurations of Windows will not see memory cards that are larger than 4gb.
