Hello, my name is Rusty. That's normal, so don't worry, your pictures are fine. RAW files are untouched, non compressed files designed for better editing. You just have to open them with the RAW editor and save them as .jpg files. The software came on the disc that came with the camera.
If you're having a connection problem, meaning your computer doesn't even see the camera, you'll need to put the pictures on the memory card and use your computer's card reader to transfer the files.
Either way, RAW files are not Mac or Windows friendly, they use special software so you can edit the photos to the best of our technology's ability. That software saves to .jpg and they are compatible with all computers.
Hi, yes, we can still figure this out when you return. Sorry for the delay, the site didn't send me a message that you contacted me.
If you're used to Photoshop, click here. Scroll down, that's a RAW plugin for Photoshop. It really is a better technology, maybe not as convenient, but the end product turns out better. Install the plugin, and you'll be able to open them in Photoshop.
