Hello my name is***** do not rate until we are finished. I look forward to assisting and am very sorry to hear that you are having this problem. I want to warn you that it is possible you will need to replace a part in order to fix this. There are a few different things that can cause this and a couple different parts so we would need to troubleshoot to find out for sure. What model coolpix is this? Is the lens stuck extended right now?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Nikon L24, Serial no. 37036040 and yes it is stuck.

Look at the lens directly straight on, does it look centered?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It is not, it is extended to the right.

While holding the power button gently push the lens to the other side.

This should get it to retract while holding the power button.
If you hear a click while doing it do not worry that is normal, it is the lens going back into place.
