Hello my name is***** look forward to assisting and am very sorry to hear that you are having this problem. Please do not rate until we are finished. What version of windows or mac is on the computer? What software exactly are you looking for, do you mean the drivers?
Are you using Firewire? No software should be needed the computer should detect the camera then you can open it like a usb drive and transfer the files over. Do not use USB to transfer the files or they will come out very poor quality and the computer may not recognize the camera.
Firewire is not a download it is a type of cable.
The dv cable is a firewire cable and should work. When connected to the computer the camera should come up like a flash drive or external had drive. If you do not see it click on start and then computer it should be listed there.
I am still waiting for your reply, the last response I got from you was "Ok i will try it again and see". what happened when you tried?
No driver/software should be needed like I told you before and you never want to use USB the transferred video will be jerky and slow. You can get a firewire card but it does not sound like you would be willing to do that so I will opt out and open this to all expert.
Hi different expert here.
The software would help you do other accessory type things, but please tell me exactly what is happening with your camcorder, I will see If I can help if there something wrong.
Hi thats fine with the USB cable. Are you sue that port is working? Also that the cable is good?
And I would try the camera on a different computer to see if that works. It will eliminate a lot of guesswork on our part;-)
ALso I need to know what operating system you are running?
Thanks for your patience.
Hi it looks like you replied to the last post but I don't see anything there.
If you did reply, Please resend;-)
well at least we have narrowed this down, the problem is definitely the camera.
Your computers and cables. One thing I need for you to check so I can be certain what needs to be done is for you to plug the camera into any USB port, then in Windows, navigate to your drives, You should see, C: and any other drive you may have DVD etc. and a USB should show up there.
Let me know of the USB one shows up or not, make sure the camera is turned on while checking this.
Thanks for that I will be with you momentarily.
Hi this means the problem is in your camcorder unfortunately,
The problem you have isn't software related but rather the port hardware on the Camera.
This one will need service by a camera repair shop or any local home electronics store.
Many Sears stores will take this in for the fix and bot are excellent with price and reliable;-)
This problem is a simple part but this camera was assembled using surface mount components and there is specialized equipment needed to replace the part.
I wish I had better news for you but the good part is it is worth the cost of the repair.
In any case, I will stick with you until this is complete.
Please rate kindly thus far, it won't cost you anything to rate my service to you kindly,
Then you can reach me by simply replying to this message anytime.
Thank you and have a nice evening.
