My canon 20d won't function in the ON position, just in the / position. This is a relatively new problem. I bought it used. Thx.

Hi, thank you for contacting My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question.
The switch for the power may have slipped, internally, so that one position has become the other position. Incidentally, the
position (normally) also allows the camera to operate... so there's nothing unusual about that.
But if the switch moves one step farther past what is now the
and the camera still works, that will prove that the internal switch has slipped one step onward.
If that is not the problem, then it is something else that requires disassembly and servicing of the camera, I have no doubt.
But, try removing the batteries, and leaving the camera on a (dry, non-humid, non-dusty) shelf for overnight. Then put the batteries back in and try the camera again.

It will not rotate further left than the / setting. Also, tried the battery removal without sucess. So bummed. Have a wedding in October that I wanted to photography.
