I have a Hero4 and just got a remote. When attempting to pair

Customer Question

I have a Hero4 and just got a remote. When attempting to pair the device the camera beep three times and has not been operable since. Nothing I do with the remote or camera (removing battery and sd card) returns my camera to an operating mode. Nor does the remote appear to have control. I would think the process of pairing a GoPro camera and GoPro Remote would be so easy to install. Is there a factory reset procedure on these items. I REALLY WOULD LIKE TO SPEAK WITH A TECHNICIAN. I would also like to discuss the GoPro Studio program. How can I get some help?Thank you!Steve

Changed battery . Camera turn on. Turned remote on and it is flashing a wireless bar )))).
Please provide clear pairing instructions for the Hero 4 to GoPro Remote.
I have now gotten to the stage where the tow units are trying to pair. How do I know when the camera and remote have successfully paired?

Hi, thank you for contacting JustAnswer.com. My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question. The instructions for pairing the remote to the GoPro would depend upon whetherA. you have a compatible remote, and/orB. what the maker and model of the remote is.C. Also... you might let me know whether you have a 'Smart' remote, among those compatible, or whether it is a 'WiFi Remote'. The procedure differs, from one to the other. There are basically and somewhat in outline, two parts to the pairing procedure:1. get the camera into pairing modethen2. do the appropriate pairing procedure on the particular remote. to get into pairing mode, in outline, you choose REM CTRL on the camera, then you choose NEW (if that option appears).to get the remote to pair then depends upon what remote it is. For a Smart remote, it's simple: hold down the Settings/Tag button until you see two arrows pointing toward each other. For a WIFI Remote, you go through rather more complex procedures. In both cases, the remote is paired if its screen mirrors what the camera's screen shows. Let me know the remote type (or, maker and model #) and I'll go into details. Thanks.
