Customer Question

A wave splashed my camera, now everything looks OK, but when I try to snap a photo it says Err01 Communication between the camera and the lens is faulty. Clean the lens contact. But I tried cleaning the contacts and it doesn't seem to work. When I turn the camera on, even though the lens is set to AF, the camera indicates MF, and, since there is no communication between the camera and the lens, it doesn't change no matter what the lens is set to. Is there anything I can try besides taking or sending it to a repair shop?

I also get 3 clicks and then Err05 after when I try to open the flash.

Hello and thank you for your question, I would be happy to help you today. The first error code indicates the contacts between the lens and camera body are contaminated. Use a cotton swab and some alcohol to clean both and dry thoroughly before installing the lens. The second error is a flash error and may indicate the circuit was damaged by the water. Try disabling the flash and see if the error goes away.
