Customer Question

good morning
I own a SONY HDR-CX240. I am having trouble in moving recorded files from the camera memory card to my computer iMac. In the memory card I have access to the files via an AVCHD logo that gives me the option to open the files via Quick Time media player. What I am trying to do it is only copy and paste the files from the camera memory card to my computer in a MP4 extension. Can you please help me?

to be more specific when I open the card I have the following 3 folders and sub-folders:
DCIM-100MSDCF and here you'll find all the pictures in JPEG format
MP_ROOT-100ANV01 that is empty
PRIVATE-SONY-AVCHD
the last folder is the one that if I click on it opens up Quick Media Player with a menu with all the recorded files, with no additional options available rather than clicking on one of them, and open it.

what I have done now is the following: I opened the memory card with a microsoft PC and save the files in MTS. But it does't work for me because I need MP4s to work with my hardware/software.
