We received this computer after my husband's grandma died last year. I transferred all my Kodak EasyShare photo's on to it and got rid of our antique desktop. However, I realized I couldn't stand her computer or Vista and bought a MacBook Pro this past April. So I have ignored this problem until now, when I wanted to see some of my pictures from 2010 and 2009. I believe the message about the software failing started this summer.
I kept getting the error messages:
Web download timeout experienced. Please try installation again. Kodak ES unable to finish task. Error coed (20x100x404x). Set up not able to complete requested tasks. And it goes around and around with these messages asking me if I'd like to try and reinstall.
I HATE Vista!!!!! That's why I got a Mac. I just want my pictures. HELP!!!
I ran the installation of the EasyShare software, thought it was installed. It then asks "Do you want to continue to run this software?" Yes. States "A program needs your permission to contine." Continue. Goes to Install Wizard. I click Start, Accept terms, Install. Then the message with the error code comes up. Asks "Would you like to go on-line to look for a solution?" Yes. I then found this answer to my error code. "As of 9/5/12 Koday EasyShare software is no longer available as a download. You can continue using ES software that is already installed on your computer. We regret any inconvenience to you." Well, I just uninstalled the software.
I just found my Kodak ES software. Should I try to reinstall it before trying your last suggestion?
