Customer Question

I have a 1 yr. old Sony Cybershot camera that was knocked out of my hand with the lens extended. Now the lens won't extend or retract (its partially out), and the camera is 'stuck' in a partially extended mode. Is the camera now totally useless? OR, can it be fixed?

Optional Information:
Make: Sony
Model: Cybershot

Already Tried:
manually pulling lens out

Hi,

- Please intimate model number written on camera to find out a way to correct the lens.

Thanks.

Where do i find the model number? I have a number on the bottom of the camera that is: 403723 but I don't think tha's what you need. This is a Cybershot camera wiih 12.1 pixels and states its a digital stillcamera. If you can let me know where to find the info, I'll get it to you. thanks.

Check nearby the serial number at bottom of camera OR model number would be written on top side that starts like DSC-___ .

OK, does the lens look slanted / tilted in any direction? if yes, please push it gently to other direction as some times it helps to correct the misaligned internal mechanism of lens assembly.
If that doesn't help then lens assembly in camera will be replaced to resolve the issue but it would cost more than camera worth. Click partstore.com link to view lens assembly price that is more than new camera price.

Hope these info will help, let me know if there is additional question.
Thanks.
