What causes an on screen "card reader error" message? The card works in my computer. I have tried a new card but I still get this error message. The camera is just a little over a year old

Any pointers on how to gain access to the reader? How does this model open to reach the contacts better? what do I clean them with?
The camera will need to be disassembled to reach the card reader. There are two screws on the rear of the camera which will need to be removed, and more inside the battery chamber. The rear plastic cover is held in place by numerous plastic clips and will need to be carefully prised off.As with the memory card, you can clean the card reader contacts with a soft cloth or pencil eraser.
