Hi,
You need to download the updated version Easyshare 8.3 for Windows at the Kodak link below.

Easyshare cameras do require the software to connect correctly.
It can take a long time, to install Easyshare
The key to downloading and installing the Easyshare programs is to make sure that nothing else is happening on your computer. The installation of this program is very resource intensive. It took me three times with a dual core system. It was not until I realized that you should not even so much as move the mouse, that it loaded successfully. Be sure to close all active programs that you can an use only one browser.
As an alternative, because of multiple compatibility issues with the camera connections and current operating systems, my other suggestion is to get an inexpensive usb memory card reader. You can take your memory card from the camera and plug it into the computer. The card will show up as a removable drive in "My Computer" and you can copy the photo files to a folder on your hard drive and view and print them from Windows. Personally, I prefer this method due to the simplicity and reduced wear and tear on the camera.

Does not work
What is your computer operating system? XP, Vista, Windows 7, Mac?
XP
The security updates to the Windows operating system and virus protection programs interfere with the camera connections. I have seen many cases where the connection worked one day and would not work the next. Some manual set up may be required.
I added my Kodak z1015 IS to the scanners & cameras section of the control panel. When I clicked on the camera icon, I got a message "the computer cannot detect the camera, and I checked and the camera was on and properly connected to the computer
With the camera on and physically connected, go back to Control Panel, click on System, select Device Manager. Under the heading Imaging Devices you should find the camera, possibly with a yellow triangle with an exclamation point. In either case delete any imaging device and allow the computer to try to provide the correct driver. If the camera does not show up, go up and click on Action and select "Scan for hardware changes"
I clicked on control panel, system, hardware, device manager, imaging devices, then action, scan for hardware changes, and nothing new came up.
