the lcd on camera iis blank/black. can only focus thru viewfinder.
Optional Information: Make: canon powershot sx30 is Model: 242032001421 Already Tried: turning it off. taking battery out and turning back on. pictures will display for viewing but not for picture taking or recording.
Hello. My name isXXXXX will be your Primary Care Technician and I can assist you with your question.When you have a black LCD for picture taking, it can be one of a few different things. One of those things is the CCD imaging chip. Whether that is the cause or not can be determined easily. Are you able to record something (I understand you can't see what you are recording)? If you do attempt to record, does it actually record something or is there nothing on the recording?Mike
I'm sorry for delay in responding but my 4 yr old granddaughter saw the camera laying on the table while I was out the room for 5 min. When I got back the LCD was working and she had taken 5 pictures so I don't know if what you were telling me would have worked or not. I didn't get a chance to try it. What should I do now?
Seriously? LOL!My suggestion would be to gather up any electronics you're having a problem with and leave them with your genious grandaughter for a while.That's not only remarkable, but a funny story. It concerns me that I could be competing with that girl for a job some day! Mike
